About Assam

Culturally, Assam is a melting pot of different communities, with the Assamese people being the majority. The state celebrates various festivals, including Bihu, a harvest festival, and is known for its traditional dance forms like Bihu dance and Sattriya dance. Assam is also famous for its unique silk production, particularly Muga silk and Assam silk. Assam's history is marked by various dynasties, including the Ahoms, who ruled for six centuries.
